Gators open with two wins at OFSAA tourney

The Father Goetz Gators are tipping off against Hamilton’s St. Thomas More this afternoon in Windsor at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations ‘AAAA’ basketball championships.
With a win, the Gators will advance to the semi-finals.
The Gators won their first two games at the Ontario high school championships yesterday, out-scoring Sarnia’s Northern Collegiate 45-34 and defeating Peel high school rivals, the St. Marguerite d’Youville Panthers, 44-36.
Kayla McFarlane paced the Gators in the opener with 18 points, while Keshia Primo contributed nine.
Primo scored another nine points against the Panthers, while Ryann Fletcher led the Gators with 16 points.
Goetz entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed, while today’s opponent, St. Thomas More, is ranked No. 5.

It drove its 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer DE to victory over 45 other competitors at the 2010 Rallye Baie des Chaleurs in New Richmond, Que from July 2 to 3.
