Mississauga’s Brittany Davidson is among 16 of Canada’s up-and-coming junior golfers who will tee it up beginning July 30 at the 6th annual Lipton Brisk Canada Cup.
The Donalda Golf & Country Club in Toronto will host the Ryder Cup-style tournament that is the only national event of its kind in Canada.
Davidson will help comprise the eight-member East team that will square off against the West over three days in match play competition.
The first team to reach 8.5 points will be declared the winner of the Canadian Junior Golf Association event.
Team East holds a 3-2 lead in the overall series after its win last year at Glen Abbey Golf Club.
Team members earned spots on their respective teams through a series of national qualifying events conduted on the CJGA Junior Tour for golfers 11-19.
Davidson is joined by Kiersten Klekner-Alt of Ottawa on the girls’ 11-19 year-old team. Other East team members include, Nathan Callighen of Stittsville, Brett Davidson of Waverley, Nova Scotia, Spencer Kelly of Ottawa, Ryan Weaterall of Nepean, Michael Reaume of Ottawa, and Nicholas Crozier of Unionville.
Four Calgarians help comprise the West team, including Scott Lowe, Sang Lee, Evann Parker and Jocelyn Alford.
Also on the team are Mac Burns and Mac Tulloch of Regina, Demetres Giannitsos of Edson, Alberta and Travis Chorley of Jasper.
