Another one bites the dust

After more than a year on stage, We Will Rock You is coming to a close.
David Mirvish, the show's producer, told the media that the popular Toronto musical will end its run this Sunday after 488 consecutive performances.
The show stars Port Credit performer Erica Peck as the female lead, Scaramouche, the brassy and outspoken love interest of Galileo (Yvan Pedneault).
"I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with the run of We Will Rock You in Toronto," said Mirvish. "The show has employed an extremely talented all-Canadian cast. In fact, (it introduced) some major new talent, actors I know will go on to great careers.
"We initially said we'd run it for seven weeks," Mirvish continued, "but in our hearts we may have hoped for 14...It's been fun and it proved we can still sustain a year's run here in Toronto."
The show was based on the music of pop-rock act Queen.
Mississauga chanteuse Suzie McNeil, who almost went the distance on the reality television show RockStar: INXS before losing to fellow Mississaugan J.D. Fortune, performed for several months in the show, as Oz. Mississauga actor Kelly Fletcher performs in the chorus.
Mirvish added that plans are underway for a Canadian tour.
