Firefighters quickly doused a blaze that began in the laundry room of a central Mississauga home this morning.
Members of the City's Fire and Emergency Services department arrived at a home at 2232 Medhat Dr., in The Queensway and Stavebank Rd. area, shortly after 8:30 a.m. to find smoke coming from the main floor of the residence.
The first crews arriving upgraded the call to a two-alarm blaze, meaning firefighters from a second station were called to the scene.
Fire crews entered the home and applied a special fire-suppressant agent to put out the fire in the main-floor laundry room. Power to the house was shut off and it was checked to make sure the fire had not spread.
No one was injured in the blaze.
