University honours student athletes

They may not have the red carpet, but the McMaster University sports awards have been around longer than the Academy Awards.
While Oscar is 79 years old, McMaster will be celebrating its 84th annual Athletic Awards Ceremony this year.
And a couple of Mississaugans are among the nominees for awards.
Wrestler Dave Rennalls is a finalist for the Ivor Wynne Male Athlete of the Year. He is up against Adam Archibald (football), Sheldon Francis (wrestling), Nathan Groenveld (volleyball), Matt Jacobs (golf) and Michael May (baseball).
Meanwhile, fellow Mississaugan Laura Pilutti is a finalist for the Les Prince award for leadership in community service. Pilutti is a lacrosse player.
The awards ceremony was held last night.
