Mississauga's Tiffany Cammeron scored the only goal of the game as Canada beat Mexico 1-0 yesterday to claim the bronze medal at the CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship in Trinidad and Tobago.
With the win, Canada clinched a berth in the first ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup tournament later this year in New Zealand.
Yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago, Cameron scored the winner in the game's 32nd minute. The forward from Mississauga finished the CONCACAF tournament as Canada's top scorer with five goals in five games.
"The team was ecstatic. We were exhausted, but ecstatic," Canadian coach Bryan Rosenfeld told the CBC. "We had many players that just wanted to go to New Zealand."
