City announces new head of OC Transpo

There have officially been changes made to OC Transpo, including a new leader effective immediately.

John Manconi, former general manager of public works has been named the new general manager of Transit Services.

Transit Services will also now report to city operations.

Manconi was not available for comment, and city officials said that Alain Mercier is no longer with the City of Ottawa. No further details were given about Mercier.

“I have worked with John Manconi for many years,” said Coun. Diane Deans, chairwoman of the city’s transit commission in a media release sent by the City of Ottawa. “I am confident that he will provide the leadership and support to the talented men and women of OC Transpo in our quest to provide quality service to our riders.”
