The Kanata Chamber of Commerce hosted its 11th-annual Food for Thought event on Thursday, Nov. 15.
The food and wine show is also the largest fundraiser for the local food bank.
Last year’s Food for Thought event raised more than $6,000.
The chamber raises the funds through the silent and live auctions – which this included a 12-person suite for a Blue Rodeo concert at Scotiabank Place and a chef’s table at Graffiti’s Italian Eatery for eight with wine.
Hundreds of people attended the event, sampling delicious dishes and drinks prepared by local restaurants and vendors.
Food for Thought was held at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 101 Kanata Ave.
Ticket prices for the event were $50 for members and $60 for non-members. Only 300 tickets were sold for the event.
This year’s event showcased the work of west-end chefs as well as a few new additions, including bistrofiftyfour, as well as past favourites the Cheshire Cat Pub, Napolis Café and Lapointe Seafood Grill.
A number of local and international wineries and breweries also participated.
Graffiti’s and the Holiday Inn & Suites were co-hosts of the event with the Chamber.
