Police identify Ottawa man as person struck and killed by train in Grafton

GRAFTON -- An Ottawa man has been identified as the person struck and killed by a freight train in Grafton Wednesday morning.

Northumberland County OPP say Alexander Gardner, 58, of Ottawa, was killed after he was hit by an eastbound CN freight train around 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 5, west of the Station Street crossing in Grafton.

Police do not suspect foul play was involved and have closed their investigation into the incident.
