Patton looking for Tory nomination in Ottawa West-Nepean

Second shot at Queen's Park

NEPEAN - Former spokesperson for Mayor Larry O’Brien, Mike Patton, announced his intent to seek Conservative Party nomination for the Ottawa West-Nepean riding Jan. 25.

Patton is the first member of the Conservative party to seek nomination.

The last election for the Ottawa West-Nepean riding was in 2007 when Patton lost to current MPP Jim Watson.

Liberal Bob Chiarelli also seeks nomination and Green Party member Mark MacKenzie has already been nominated to represent his party.

While Watson has announced his intention to run for mayor of Ottawa, he has yet to officially step down from his current position.

The day of the byelection hasn’t been set.
