Film Night International winter series kicks off

SMITHS FALLS - Get ready for a fresh round of film showings, because Film Night International is already underway. There are nine films in the winter series.

Two movies a month will be shown until May, including Love and Savagery on Feb. 4, Cairo Time on Feb. 18, Creation, on Mar. 11, The Young Victoria, on Mar. 25 and The Last Station on Apr. 8.

The three remaining screenings have yet to be announced.

Director Faye Cunningham says Film Night International, now entering its eighth year, continues to meet its goal of providing great entertainment at reasonable prices and provides an opportunity for filmgoers to meet and greet their friends before and after each screening.

Series passes cost $60 to all nine films and $40 to any five films; they are now on sale at the Perth and Smiths Falls libraries.

Individual tickets are $10 at the door.

All films are shown at 7 p.m. at Premier Cinemas in Smiths Falls and all profits from the series go back into the library community.

Film Night International is a member of the Film Circuit, a national association that promotes Canadian, foreign and independent films through grassroots distribution.
