Construction on Hazeldean to finish before Christmas

Construction on a stretch of Hazeldean Road will see the area reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction beginning on Nov. 8 and tentatively ending in mid-December.

The westbound lanes on Hazeldean Road between Edgewater Street and Kincardine Drive will be closed for the installation of a new water main. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the eastbound side to accommodate the construction.

The two left-turn lanes on Terry Fox Drive at the Hazeldean intersection will be reduced to single turn lanes.

Construction work on the intersection at Hazeldean and Terry Fox is set for the weekend of Nov. 17 and traffic flow will be controlled by the Ottawa police, said the city in a press release.

Lane reductions on Hazeldean from Edgewater to Castlefrank Road are set to begin in the spring or summer of 2013, with completion of the work scheduled for the fall.
