Nine-year-old daughter in critical condition after head-on collision

A Drummond/North Elmsley man is dead and his nine-year-old daughter is in critical condition at Kingston General Hospital following a head-on crash on Hwy. 7, seven kilometres west of Kaladar.

Michael Garland, 33, of DNE succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A 55-year-old Ohio man, Peter Clark, was also killed. A 32-year-old male passenger in Garland’s vehicle, who police said was a family friend, was taken to Belleville hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Kaladar OPP said the two SUVs collided at around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday during wet conditions.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
