Carleton Place and Kemptville are now tied in the division's third-place slot following a loss on Dec. 29.
The Brockville Braves fired a total of 41 shots at the
Canadians’ Scott Shackell in the 7-1 defeat.
The Braves would score four unanswered goals in the first
period, with two coming on powerplays.
Brockville
would get two more in the second frame before Carleton Place’s Robbie Lepine put the home team on the board.
The Braves would get
one more goal late in the third for the win in front of crowd of about 400
hockey fans.
The Canadians were outshot 19-41.
The following night, Kemptville downed Cornwall 2-1 in a game that made good use of
the penalty boxes.
The 73’s would rack up a total of 143 minutes on the night,
with the Colts putting up 162 minutes.
What’s next
The Canadians’ next home game is Jan. 3 versus the Kanata
Stallions. The puck drops at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
