Broomball Championships finale

The closing ceremonies for the World Broomball Championships resulted in the largest-ever sit-down meal, indoors, in Lanark County, being held at the Beckwith Recreation Complex near Blacks Corners on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Athletes from all over Canada, and all over the world, from as far away as Japan, Italy and Australia converged on Beckwith Township, Arnprior, and Carleton Place to play their hearts out.

Beckwith Township Reeve Richard Kidd played on the Beckwith Township team, the Beckwith Gamblers, which beat Team Australia in a game.

After dinner and drinks, it was time to hand out the trophy hardware after a long, hard-fought series of games.
