Wolves await Valley final series opponent

24-hour state of limbo

The Renfrew Timberwolves will have to wait at least one more night before they’ll learn of their opponent in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League Valley Division 2012-13 championship series.
The Stittsville Royals stayed alive Monday night, cooling off the Perth Blue Wings 4-3 at the Goulbourn Recreation Complex.
Alex Bouchey scored a powerplay goal with just 38 seconds remaining to snap a 3-3 deadlock. It was Stittsville’s only lead of the night.
Perth still leads the best-of-seven series 3-1. Game time is in Perth at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Renfrew won its Valley semifinal in four straight over the Arnprior Packers.
Around the loop
The Ottawa Junior Canadians pulled even at two games apiece in their Metro Division semifinal series with the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
The Canadians were 6-3 winners at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena Monday night.
They have a quick turn-around. The two teams meet in game five at the Brian Kilrea (Canterbury) Arena tonight.
Clarence Creek and Gatineau also square off.
The Mustangs stayed alive with a 3-2 road victory Sunday afternoon. However, the Beavers still lead the series 3-1.
All three remaining Rideau-St. Lawrence Conference opening-round match ups are going the limit.
Athens, Westport and Char-Lan host seventh games this evening.
