A penalty shot in the final minute, overtime and a shootout
made for an exciting night in Cumberland
for the Jr. A Canadians.
While the Grads fans might have gone home happy Tuesday, the
Canadians would end up losing the match 4-3.
The game was a see-saw affair with the two trading goals
throughout the game.
Canadian goals came from Tyler Kotlarz and Luke Martin.
The Grads were ahead 3-2 with about a minute left when the
Canadians were awarded a penalty shot.
Zach Allen made it count and tied the game, forcing
overtime.
There were 10 shots in the five minutes, but no tie-breaker.
In the shootout, the only goal came from the Grads’ Michael
Borkowski.
Allen, Kotlarz, Richard Stethem were the Canadians’
shooters.
Carleton Place’s
Scott Shackell stopped an incredible total of 67 shots on the night and earning
second-star honours. The Canadians fired 46 shots at the Grads’ net.
The Canadians’ next game is Friday in Smiths Falls.
The Bears come to Carleton Place
the next night.
