The Carleton Place Canadians continue to frustrate the
Brockville Braves - one the top teams in the league.
Following a 3-2 OT win on Oct. 27 and 4-1 loss to the Braves on Nov. 3, the Canadians
travelled to Brockville
on Nov. 6. And while they didn’t come home with a win, the Canadians did get
some more ink on the score sheet.
The Braves took the Friday night game 5-3.
Brockville
got the lone goal of the first period and opened the second frame by getting
one by Carleton Place’s
Morgan Barr in the first couple of minutes.
That’s when the Canadians started their rally.
Goals by Donovan Gardiner, Aaron MacCosham and Tyler Kotlarz
put the Canadians ahead 3-2 with about three minutes left in the period.
But the Braves’ Shane Thompson would get his second of the
night and tie it up before the second intermission.
Late in the third, Brockville’s
Scott Arnold would get the go-ahead goal.
The Canadians pulled the goalie in a last-ditch effort, but Arnold would strike again
with an empty-net goal in the final minute of play.
The Braves outshot the Canadians 39-21.
The Canadians play tonight (Nov. 7) at home against the
Ottawa Junior Senators.
