The Brockville Braves took their revenge for a recent overtime loss to the Canadians with a 4-1 victory Tuesday night.

On Oct. 27, Carleton Place took a 3-2 OT win over the Braves. But the Jr. A Canadians weren’t as lucky on Nov. 3.

Brockville’s Mark Williamson put the Braves on the board first with a goal at the 12-minute mark. Williamson would score again before the first period was over putting the Braves ahead 2-0 going into the second period.

Shayne Stockton extended the Brockville lead about half way through the second frame with a powerplay goal.

Carleton Place’s Richard Stethem would end any shutout hopes for Brockville’s Clarke Saunders when he scored a powerplay goal with about seven minutes left in the period.

Matt Thompson and Donovan Gardiner would be credited with the assists.

But the Braves’ offence wasn’t through.

Nathan Slack got an insurance goal in the third period for the 4-1 win.

Brockville outshot Carleton Place 29-20. The Canadians’ powerplay was one for seven.

Carleton Place (18 points) now sits in third place in the Robinson Division behind Brockville (29 points) and Cornwall (34 points).

The Canadians meet the Braves again at 7:30 on Friday night in Brockville. On Saturday, Carleton Place hosts the Ottawa Jr. Senators.
