The Brockville Braves took their revenge for a recent
overtime loss to the Canadians with a 4-1 victory Tuesday night.
On Oct. 27, Carleton
Place took a 3-2 OT win over the Braves. But the Jr.
A Canadians weren’t as lucky on Nov. 3.
Brockville’s
Mark Williamson put the Braves on the board first with a goal at the 12-minute
mark. Williamson would score again before the first period was over putting the
Braves ahead 2-0 going into the second period.
Shayne Stockton extended the Brockville lead about half way through the
second frame with a powerplay goal.
Carleton Place’s
Richard Stethem would end any shutout hopes for Brockville’s Clarke Saunders when he scored a
powerplay goal with about seven minutes left in the period.
Matt Thompson
and Donovan Gardiner
would be credited with the assists.
But the Braves’ offence wasn’t through.
Nathan Slack got an insurance goal in the third period for
the 4-1 win.
Brockville
outshot Carleton Place
29-20. The Canadians’ powerplay was one for seven.
Carleton Place
(18 points) now sits in third place in the Robinson Division behind Brockville (29 points) and Cornwall (34 points).
The Canadians meet the Braves again at 7:30 on Friday night
in Brockville.
On Saturday, Carleton Place
hosts the Ottawa Jr. Senators.
