Smiths Falls Gym Stars to host invitational meet

SMITHS FALLS -  It’s that time of year again: the Smiths Falls Gym Stars are hosting their 4th annual Come Shine with Us Invitational Gymnastics Meet on Feb. 6 at the gym club located at the old high school (2 Gould St.).  

Come watch 116 gymnasts ages seven and up who will be competing in Levels 2-5. Clubs attending include Fort Henry from Kingston, Kids in Action from Petawawa, Gloucester Community Gymnastics Challengers from Ottawa, Olympia from Stittsville, as well as gymnasts from Brockville and Smiths Falls.

The first flight begins at 8 a.m. and the last awards are going to be handed out at approximately 8 p.m. There will be three flights, with the youngest participants competing in the morning and the senior girls in the highest levels competing in the evening flight.

Flight 1: seven to eight years old and Level 2 gymnasts of all ages start at 8 a.m., with awards at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Flight 2: Level 3 gymnasts of all ages; starts at 12:30 p.m., with awards at approximately 4:45 p.m.

Flight 3: Level 4-5 gymnasts of all ages and Masters; starts at 5 p.m., with awards at approx 8:15 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children and for children under 5, admission is free.

Perth rally team leader of the pack

PERTH - Perth’s Riverbank Rally Team is in the driver’s seat. It drove its 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer DE to victory over 45 other competitors at the 2010 Rallye Baie des Chaleurs in New Richmond, Que from July 2 to 3.
