Local rejection on health will be rejected by Industry Canada
04/24/13 - 11:10:19 AM
Councillors should tell residents—no matter how hard they`ve campaigned—that Industry Canada will not reject applications for health reasons. Local government shouldn`t waste time even debating it: the power to set those standards is at the federal level, not local. This tower will go ahead.
Class 2b - not reason DDT is banned
04/17/13 - 6:06:00 PM
Every time RFscare proponents claim that microwaves are in the same carcinogen category — 2B — as DDT and lead which are deadly and so microwaves should be restricted too, real scientists and regulators ignore RFScare proponents even more. DDT and lead are *not* banned because they are in class 2B; they're banned because they're an endocrine disruptor and a neurotoxin respectively.
No reason to use "radiation" except to scare
04/17/13 - 5:59:38 PM
There is no reason to use the term "microwave radiation" except deliberately to scare the pay public with an association with very harmful nuclear radiation. One doesn't say "microwave radiation oven", or "light radiation bulb" or "infrared radiation remote" "radio wave radiation receiver". "Microwave" alone is unique and descriptive. Use it.

Action should be based on evidence
11/26/12 - 9:22:19 AM
Even if one accepts Deever's premise that incidence of four cancers is growing (the latest Canadian Cancer Society report says prostate has steadily declined for 20 years, and the incidence of all cancers combined is steady to declining), what good evidence is there that cell towers have any role? None. “Reasonable adults” should demand good rational evidence to guide policy, not random fears of cancer patients, however much we feel for them.
